Frequently asked questions
Get clear answers before you begin.
Wondering about cost, preparation, timing, or how you will review the film? Start with these answers. We will work through the details of your particular project and record the agreed terms in your proposal.
Review the common questionsHow much should we budget for a film?
The investment depends on the planning, people, locations, crew, equipment, filming time, travel, editing, graphics, and versions your project needs. We prepare a tailored proposal after learning about your goal. Our Pricing Guidance page explains what shapes that quote, so you can approach the conversation with a clearer picture.
What do we need before the first conversation?
Bring the reason you want to make a film and anything you already know about the audience, message, participants, and places you want to share it. Existing photos, videos, or examples can help. You do not need a script or technical plan, and unanswered questions are welcome.
Can you work toward our launch date?
Tell us the date you need the finished media and what is driving it. Planning, participant availability, filming, editing and your team's review all affect the schedule. We will discuss feasibility and record the agreed milestones in the proposal before work begins.
What if our people have never been on camera?
You do not need to arrive with a polished performance. We prepare the participants and guide the conversation around what they know. Jessica Hougen's museum testimonial and Brad Dillingham's transit-program testimonial on our Work page describe that experience in their own words.
How much time will our team need to contribute?
Plan for an initial conversation, help arranging access and participants, time on the filming day, and feedback on the edit. Choose one person to gather your team's comments and approvals. The amount of time depends on the project, and we work through those responsibilities together.
What happens if weather or access changes?
Tell us about outdoor locations, permits, operating hours and other constraints early. We discuss priorities, possible alternatives and any rescheduling terms as part of the project plan. Travel and location-specific conditions belong in the proposal so everyone knows what has been agreed.
Can we use the film on our website and social channels?
Tell us everywhere you intend to share it. A website film, a vertical social edit and a presentation may need different framing, length, captions or files. We agree on the included versions and usage rights in the proposal, including any limits attached to music or other licensed material.
How will we review and receive the film?
Before work begins, we agree on the schedule, review process, included films and versions, usage rights, responsibilities, and any project-specific limits. Your proposal records those details. We also decide who will approve the work and gather your team's feedback, so the review has a clear path.
